Bandra, better known as “The Queen of the Suburbs of Bombay” you may find  Bombay not an easy sort of place at least not to begin with until you get accustomed with the lifestyle and settle in. Bandra West owes its hip vibe to trendy craft-beer bars and upscale global restaurants, as well as stylish cafes that serve chia juice by day and creative cocktails at night. Bandra is one of the most happening part of the city. It has Bollywood, industrialist and high profile people who call Bandra their home. The area’s old-world bungalows sit alongside chic fashion boutiques, wall murals and street stalls. Restored 17th-century Bandra Fort, which hosts music performances, is at one end of waterfront Bandstand Promenade, a popular meeting point. With Portuguese and British influences reflected on the architecture and cuisine.

Or more prominently called Chef Raun, Born and raised in Bandra, who spent his childhood in a place called Chimbai, which is a Koli fishermen village, his childhood was influenced by the various street foods of Bombay and being from the metropolis, he also developed his love and passion for cooking. After completing his Degree in Hotel Management from the premier IHM Bombay (Dadar Catering College), he worked with the Taj Mahal Group of Hotels, where he honed his skills and knowledge. Then after had a couple of years working in the USA, he decided to call Vancouver area home and has been here since 2002. He has run other successful ventures prior to The Bandra Cafe. “My idea of the cafe, is a place to hang out and chill with friends, which I did as a teen and young adult in Bombay, where going to a cafe was an everyday routine to catch up on local and world stories. To meet up with old friends and make new ones” I welcome you all and look forward to serving you.
